To request a PUK code to unlock your SIM card, you must contact BTC Please note that you will need to confirm your identity in order for the PUK code to be provided to you. After successful confirmation of your identity, the call center agent will provide you with the PUK code immediately and also send it to your mobile phone by SMS. Please note that if your mobile and not just your SIM card is locked, you will need to seek help from an independent company to have your mobile device unlocked.
After upgrading to a different mobile device which requires a different SIM card size or technology After a SIM card exhaustion which happens when the SIM card is more than 2 years old and cannot connect to the network If the SIM card is damaged, lost or stolen After switching provider You can visit any BTC shop to get assistance and have your SIM card replaced. After successful confirmation of your identity, the shop agent will issue you with a new SIM card and take the necessary steps to activate it for you. It can take up to 2 hours for your new SIM card to activate after a replacement. Please note that the SIM card replacement is free of charge if you are a postpaid customer and cost $10.00 + VAT if you are a prepaid customer.
As a first step please ensure that the SIM card is in the device properly and that it is facing the right direction. If it is, as a second step please go to the Mobile or Carrier settings and perform a scan for the network following these steps: Android: Settings>Wireless and networks>Mobile networks>Network operators iPhone/iPad: Settings>Carrier>Turn off automatic network selection Windows Phone 8.0+: Settings>Cellular>Network selection Ensure that you select BTC as an option. If it does not show up, please try searching again.
Please ensure that your phone has the correct Message Service Center number Android Go to the default text message app>Settings>Message Center Number>Set this to +12425351009 If it's not there, go to the Phone app>Dial *#*#4636#*#*>Phone information>Scroll down until you see SMSC>Set it to "+12425351009",145 iPhone Go to the Phone app and perform the following: Step 1 - Checking what number is set as your SMS service center number. Launch your iPhone keypad and type *#5005*7672# and Press Call/OK. You will get a response that tells you the number that has been set as your SMS service Centre number. Step 2 - Erasing the incorrect SMS service center number. On your iPhone keypad, type ##5005*7672# and Press Call/OK. You will get a response that tells you that the service center has no address. It means it has been erased. Step 3 - Setting the correct the SMS service center number. On your iPhone keypad, type **5005*7672*+12425351009# Press Call/OK You should get a response telling you the number has been set. Later there is a notice stating that the sms successfully changed.
Ensure that your device is not set to block calls, do this by: Update! Ensure that phone is not off for non payment. Go to setting > select device or call setting > turn off Blocking mode.
