Your BTC Set-top box provides some of the most advanced features available today.

These features include:

  • Closed captioning/subtitles
  • Electronic program guide
  • Favorites
  • Video on demand (VoD)
  • Parental control
  • Personal Video Recorder
  • Replay TV
  • Catch Up TV
  • Pause Live TV

For more information on how to use these advanced features please refer to your “IP Set-top box quick start user guide.”

You will need the following to connect your set-top box to your TV:

HDMI cable (recommended option)

  • Connect the RF coaxial cable from the exterior to the CABLE IN port on the Set-top box
  • Connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the Set-top box on your HDTV
  • Plug the power cable in to the electrical outlet

Audio/video composite (standard definition option)

  • Connect the RF coaxial cable from the exterior to the CABLE IN port on the Set-top box
  • Connect the yellow, red and white cables to the ports of the same color on the television, connect the mini connector to the A/V OUT port of the Set-top box
  • Plug the power cable in to the electrical outlet

Switching channels

  • Switch between channels quickly and easily by pressing the up & down arrows or CH +/- on the remote control.
  • Jump to channels quickly by entering the channel number using the numeric (0-9) buttons.

Volume control

  • Press the VOL +/- or arrows
  • Press the “mute” button to turn the sound off
  • Press the “mute” button again or the VOL +/- buttons to restore audio

Program information

  • Press the “info” button to display a banner with basic program information.
  • Press the “info” button a second time for more detailed program information.
  • Press the “info” button a third time to close.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR BTC REMOTE.

  • Power Button
    Turn your Set-Top Box On/Off.
  • TV Button
    Turn your television On/Off.
  • Yellow Button
    Displays all upcoming programs
  • Search Button
    Display Search menu.
  • PVR Button
    Display the PVR (Personal Video Recorder) menu.
  • Green Button
    Takes you back to the live show
  • EPG (Guide) Button
    Display the TV program guide.
  • Apps Button
    Display the app menu.
  • VoD Button
    Displays Video on Demand menu.
  • Sports Button
    Displays Sports channel guide.
  • Info Button
    Display channel and program information on the screen.
  • Arrow Buttons (Up/Down/Left/Right)
    Move the cursor up, down, left, or right. Turn volume up/down (right/left). Switch up/down (Up/Down).
  • OK Button
    Select a menu or confirm selection.
    Display the channel list menu when watching TV
  • Exit Button
    Close a menu or go to the previous menu.
  • Opt Button
    Display more options when applicable.
  • >Mute Button
    Mute audio output of the Set-Top Box.
  • Back Button
    Exit menus
  • VOL +/- Button
    Mute audio output of the Set-Top Box.
  • CH +/- Button
    Switch channel up or down.
  • Menu Button
    Display Search menu.
  • REC Button
    Start recording a program.
    GUIDE: Sets the selected program to be recorded
  • PG+ Button
    Move up a page on the menu and TV/Music list.
  • PG- Button
    Move down a page on the menu and TV/Music list.
  • FF Button
    Fast forward the program up to x128
  • REW Button
    Rewind the program up to x128 speed.
  • Play/Pause Button
    Displays Sports channel guide.
  • Stop Button
    Stop a recording or playback.
    Return to live program on the Instant Recording mode.
  • Number Pad Buttons
    Entering channel numbers.
  • V out Button
    Select among video output options.
  • Lang Button
    Select among available languages.
  • Once connected to power your set-top should display a red light when in standby mode and a blue light when powered on
  • Ensure that there is a light on the front of the Set-top box
  • Ensure that your set-top box and TV are connected to a working power source
  • Check/change the batteries in your remote
  • Check/change the batteries in your remote.
  • Ensure that there is nothing blocking the front of the Set-top box.
  • Ensure that your TV output is set to the correct output.
  • Reboot your set-top box by disconnecting the power supply for 30 seconds and re-connecting.
  • Ensure that your set-top box is connected to Port 2, 3 or 4 on your BTC Modem.
  • Ensure that all cables are securely connected to the Set-top box.
  • Ensure that your TV output is set to the correct output.
  • Reboot your set-top box by disconnecting the power supply for 30 seconds and re-connecting.
  • Ensure that the volume on both your TV and your Set-top box are turned up
  • Ensure that all cables are securely connected to the TV and the Set-top box
  • Change the channel
  • Reboot your Set-top box by disconnecting the power supply for 30 seconds and re-connecting
  • Click “Menu” and select “Favorites”. Scroll down to “TV” and click “OK”
  • Reboot your Set-top box by disconnecting the power supply for 30 seconds and re-connecting

  • Press the Menu button on the remote.
  • Scroll to the Favorites option on the left and Select OK on the remote.
  • Scroll downwards to highlight the HDTV option on screen and select OK on the
    remote.
  • Selecting the HDTV listing would display a TV Guide and Channel listing consisting of the HD channels ONLY. The customer can then select a channel to view from this list. However this will prevent non-HD channels from appearing in the channel listing (EPG/Guide).
    (Example Non-HD Channels such as 100 FLOWTV will not be included in this
    listing).
  • Press the Menu button on the remote.
  • Scroll to Flow Apps option on the right.
  • Highlight the Bill View option on screen and Select OK on the remote.
  • Enter the Parental control pin at the authentication prompt.
  • You will now see bill.
