Upgrading to iOS7

iOS 7, the Operating System for iPhones, iPods and iPads, has been released. iPhones 4 or newer, iPad 2 or newer, an iPad mini or an iPod Touch 5th generation or newer can all get iOS 7 now. Here's how to update!

Over The Air

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click on General
  3. Click on Software Update
  4. It will check automatically, once done it will state there is a new version
  5. Ensure that you are on WiFi before clicking Yes (It's a 667 MB file)
  6. iOS 7 will download, install, and reboot your iPhone; it is suggested not to use it during this time
  7. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions
  8. Welcome to iOS 7

*Tip: Ensure your device is plugged into an electrical socket so that it can charge while updating.

iTunes

  1. Plug device into your PC/Mac
  2. Once recognised, open iTunes
  3. Make sure you're updated to iTunes 11.1
  4. Go into the device in iTunes once it's recognised
  5. Click Update
  6. A popup window will appear saying a new version is available; we suggest clicking Download and Update instead of just Download Only
  7. iOS 7 will download, install, and reboot your iPhone; it is suggested not to use it during this time
  8. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions
  9. Welcome to iOS 7

If you were running iOS 7 beta, you will need to use the iTunes method to update to the official version.
