Setting up your Internet's WiFi security
With mobile phones, laptops, tablets, WiFi enabled TV's and the like becoming more and more popular, ensuring that your WiFi is up, protected, and allows your devices to connect is important. Today we're going to show you how to setup your WiFi using your BTC DSL modem.
If you haven't setup your modem for WiFi usage yet, you will need to plug it into a computer in order to move further. So plug in that ethernet cable, get connected, and let's go!
Once you're fully connected to your DSL modem via your computer, head on over to 192.168.1.1/admin. The username and password should both be admin. It's suggested you change these when you first get your modem to prevent someone from switching them.
Click on Wireless, then click on Security. There you can set the password, and network authentication type.
Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages, along with devices that will and will not work with it. Most devices have no problem with WPA2 now a days, but the older set will need WPA or WEP, even though they aren't as secure.
Once you've set your network type, figure out which password you're going to use (unless it's a type which you won't need it), and you're good to go!
