Getting Online with your Mobile phone

Before your phone will get access to the Internet you must ensure that your APNs (Access Point Names) set properly in your new phone. If not set, or set incorrectly, you will not be able go get online even if your account has active data.

Please see the below for settings for the Nokia Lumia, Samsung Chat, Nokia Asha, iPhone and Samsung Galaxy Family mobile phones.

Windows 8 (Nokia Lumia)

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to access point
  3. Click on the add button
  4. Access Point Name: internet.btcbahamas.com
  5. Username, password, etc. should all not have anything in them
  6. Save
  7. Reboot

Windows 7 (Nokia Lumia)

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click on mobile network
  3. Click add apn
  4. Access point name: internet.btcbahamas.com
  5. Username, password, etc. should all not have anything in them
  6. Save
  7. Reboot

Samsung Chat

  1. Press 'Menu' (Navi key)
  2. Highlight the ‘Settings’ and 'Select' (left soft key)
  3. Highlight ‘Application settings’ and 'Select' (left soft key)
  4. Highlight 'Browser' and 'Select' (left soft key)
  5. Highlight 'Browser profiles' and 'Select' (left soft key)
  6. Press 'Options' (left soft key)
  7. Highlight 'Add new connection' and 'Select' (left soft key)

    When entering the following information do not press 'Save' until told to in the instructions.

  8. Highlight ‘Profile name’ enter ‘BTC’
  9. Highligh ‘Home URL’ and enter 'http://google.com’
  10. Highlight 'Bearer' and select 'GPRS' by pressing the Navi key to the right
  11. Highlight 'Advanced settings' and select by pressing the Navi key
  12. Highlight 'APN' and enter ‘internet.btcbahamas.com’
  13. Both Username and Password should both not have anything in them
  14. Press 'Save' twice (left soft key)
  15. Highlight ‘BTC’ and press the Navi key to make it active

Samsung Galaxy S III/ S III Mini/S4/S4 Mini

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Wireless and networks
  3. More (this is sometimes there on newer firmware versions)
  4. Mobile network
  5. Access points
  6. Press the Menu key
  7. Reset to default
  8. Menu Key
  9. New APN
  10. Name: BTC
  11. APN: internet.btcbahamas.com (Leave everything else as it is.)
  12. Menu key
  13. Save APN
  14. Ensure that the new APN is ticked on the right side

Nokia Asha 302

  1. Find ""Personal settings""Press the Navigation key.
  2. Scroll to Settings and press the Navigation key.
  3. Scroll to Configuration and press the Navigation key.
  4. Scroll to Personal settings and press the Navigation key.
  5. Create new data connection
  6. If no data connections have been created:
  7. Press the Navigation key.
  8. Scroll to Web and press the Navigation key.
  9. If data connections have been created already:
  10. Press Options.
  11. Scroll to Add new and press the Navigation key.
  12. Scroll to Web and press the Navigation key.
  13. Enter data connection name
  14. Scroll to Account name and press the Navigation key.
  15. Key in BTC and press the Navigation key.
  16. Turn off default data connection
  17. Scroll to Use preferred access pt. and press the Navigation key.
  18. Scroll to No and press the Navigation key.
  19. Edit bearer settings
  20. Scroll to Bearer settings and press the Navigation key.
  21. Enter APN
  22. Scroll to Packet data access pt. and press the Navigation key.
  23. Key in internet.btcbahamas.com and press the Navigation key.
  24. An APN is used to establish a data connection.
  25. Select authentication type
  26. Scroll to Authentication type and press the Navigation key.
  27. Scroll to Normal and press the Navigation key.
  28. Activate data connection
  29. Press Back three times to save the settings.
  30. Scroll to BTC and press Options.Scroll to Activate and press the Navigation key.

iPhone

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to General
  3. Look for either Network or Cellular, as placement depends on iOS version
  4. Go to Cellular Data Network
  5. Set APN to internet.btcbahamas.com
  6. Leave username and password both blank
  7. Go back and ensure that 3G is enabled
  8. If you have just recently applied for data and haven't rebooted your phone, please do so now

BlackBerry

  1. Go to the home screen
  2. Swipe down from the top
  3. Click on Settings
  4. Go to Software Update
  5. Check for the latest update
  6. Once it has found and started downloading it, it will install and reboot the device
  7. Once it's rebooted, go back into Settings and then click Network Connections, and then Mobile Network
  8. On Network Mode you can select the option to include LTE, along with the other networks.
